General information
The Faculty of Business and Information Technology (FBIT) offers students the opportunity to take a minor in Entrepreneurship. The information below applies to current FBIT students. Admission requirements
FBIT students can apply to the minor in the winter semester of their second year in the program. Admission is based on performance in the program as well as previous business courses. Commerce students must have a minimum 2.0 CGPA (C average on a 4.3 scale) to be considered. Networking and IT Security students must have a minimum 2.3 CGPA and a minimum C+ in BUSI 2000U – Collaborative Leadership and BUSI 2200U – Marketing Management .
Academic requirements to major/minor in the Bachelor of Commerce program
To remain in their major or minor, students must hold a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA (or 2.3 for the Accounting major or minor). Students falling below a 2.0 (or 2.3 in the case of Accounting), will be enrolled in general Commerce.
Program requirements
The Entrepreneurship minor for FBIT students requires a minimum of 21 credit hours in Entrepreneurship courses. Students are encouraged to participate in either an internship placement with a start-up company or in the incubator. Students must complete five core entrepreneurship courses and two entrepreneurship electives. Entrepreneurship minor core courses
