General information
The Marketing minor provides students in Networking and IT Security with training in the topics of consumer behaviour, marketing research, advertising, promotions, and strategy formulation in a dynamic marketing environment. The curriculum is designed to complement their technical program and prepare students with the latest skills and perspectives essential for careers in marketing, sales, product/brand management in technology based industries. The Bachelor of Information Technology degree with a minor in Marketing requires a minimum of 18 credit hours in marketing courses. Students must complete three marketing core courses and a minimum of three marketing elective courses. Students must also maintain a 2.0 GPA (C average on a 4.3 scale) in their minor courses. Admission requirements
Students can apply to have a minor added to their program in the winter semester of their second year in the program. Admission is competitive and based on performance in the program as well as previous business courses. Students must have a minimum 2.3 GPA (C+ average on a 4.3 scale) to be considered as well as at least a C+ average in Marketing in the Information Technology Sector. Students will be notified by their academic advisor if they are accepted into their desired minor program. Marketing electives (choose three)
