BIOL 4060U – Functional Genomic and Proteomics An overview of genomics (the study of the structure and function of complete sets of genes of a genome) and proteomics (the study of the structure and function of the complete set of proteins that the genome expresses). The complexity of genes, genome organization, protein structure and methods used for analysis will be discussed from both an historical and current perspective. The practical use of software tools for analysis of genomic and proteomic data will be introduced. Credit hours: 3 Lecture hours: 3 Prerequisite(s): BIOL 4070U
