General information and admission requirements

The Commerce Bridge program provides students with the opportunity to apply the diploma or degree they have already earned toward a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree at the university. Admission is competitive and possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Preference will be given to applicants with the best qualifications.

Graduates with a two-year Ontario college business diploma (or equivalent)

Two-year Ontario college business diploma (or equivalent) graduates with a minimum 3.0 GPA (B average on a 4.3 scale) have the option of taking a five core bridge. Upon successful completion, students may then proceed to the third year of the honours Bachelor of Commerce program. Students must meet with their academic advisor to determine the approved bridge courses based on their college diploma.

Students who have a two-year diploma in Accounting, Business, Human Resources Management, Marketing or Small Business and Entrepreneurship have the opportunity to apply to major in the relevant field during the bridge program. They must see their academic advisor to apply to a major and discuss the required courses to complete their program. Students will receive specific transfer credits based on the learning outcomes of their completed college diploma.

Graduates with an Ontario college non-business diploma

Graduates with an Ontario college non-business diploma with a minimum 3.0 GPA (B average on a 4.3 scale) are eligible for admission to the Commerce – Bridge program. This program requires students to complete the five bridge courses (which can be accomplished in one semester). Upon successful completion of the Bridge program with a 2.0 GPA (C average on a 4.3 scale) in each course, students are eligible to enter into the third year of the honours Bachelor of Commerce program.

Bridge course completion requirements

Bridging courses vary depending on the college program completed. Upon admission to the bridging program, a list of required bridging courses will be sent to students.

After Bridge completion

Students who successfully complete the bridging program, are eligible to enter into third year of the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree program. It is suggested that interested students consult the Faculty of Business and Information Technology for specific details.
